Stop seeking self-improvement, and instead seek my face.

“Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.”2 CORINTHIANS 3:5

Being a woman is hard, but working to be the woman of God you think you should be is even harder. It’s not easy being everything for everyone, yet still feeling like you’re not enough.

Dear Woman, if you feel this way, please take a deep breath and listen. This is what God would say to you today.

Stop seeking self-improvement, and instead seek my face. Remember that My strength is in your weakness, that you have been made perfect in Me, that I am in you, and you are in Me.

You are what I say you are, and you are enough. You can rest in My perfect peace, knowing the plans I have for you, plans for a wonderful future.

Stop fighting battles I have already won. Stop waging war on yourself. Stop planning to do better, and simply follow my path I have laid out for you.

Stop working on being a better woman of God, and focus on residing in me. I am your safe place.

Stop trying to be everything, and rest in the fact that I already am. In Me you have fullness of life. In Me, you are already enough

  1. What I mean is, a woman should be who God calls her to be; not trying to prove her worth to people who don’t value her. Many women take on men’s stresses to try to prove something. In different cultures women also are forced to have too many children and are abandoned, so I can really only speak as an American woman. I know God’s will was not for a woman to be overwhelmed.

  2. Amen our sufficiency is of God. A lot of women’s difficulties are self-inflicted: from choosing to marry the wrong men to trying to be everything when we should not be trying to be everything.
