How to Avoid Sin

But the serpent said to the woman, You will not die; for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. – Genesis 3:4-5

Daily we all have one common struggle, the struggle against sin. In the Garden of Eden, sin could have been avoided if they had focused on one thing, God’s commandment. However, the serpent tempted Eve by telling her the great things that would happen if they ate the fruit. As a result of not following God’s commandment they were cast out of the garden and had to endure the many hardships of the world. This is a huge reminder for us. Let us not look at the advantages and benefits of sin no matter how great and enticing they may seem. Instead, let’s solely focus on God’s commands so we too may not fall into sin.
