A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. – Ezekiel 36: 26

Why do we need a new heart and a new spirit? As we walk through this world, we encounter many things that are not glorifying God, and we may even partake in many of those things. Each time we encounter or are part of something that is not glorifying God or is outside of His plan for us, our heart is hardened, and our spirit is crushed. This happens little by little, and we may not even notice it. We begin to become angry, less empathetic, less compassionate, even doing things we never thought we would. This is the result of a hardened heart and a crushed spirit. However, God is never far from us. His love, grace, and mercy will always be enough to give us a new heart and a new spirit. All we need to do is accept Jesus as our Lord, and savior, and surrender our lives, hurts, and mistakes to Him and He starts working in our lives
