Deny the Flesh
Then he said to them all, If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. – Luke 9:23
Have you ever wondered what it means to deny ourselves? I have, and it took me quite a while to figure out what it means and takes to get to that point of truly denying ourselves. Our flesh is going to go against everything God wants us to do. Our flesh wants us to have immoral thoughts, indulge ourselves sinfully, judge others, and the list of sins goes on and on. If we want to become the person God created us to be, then we have to deny our desires so we can make room for the desires of Christ. Denying ourselves is just the first step. When we are finally to the point of denying ourselves then we have to take up our cross every day. It is a hard job, but that is also why we have God’s strength to lean on. So let’s give up our selfish desires and fill ourselves with God’s desires. Be aware of the hardships that you will endure and remember eventually there will be more blessings coming your way than you could ever imagine
