For because He himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted (Hebrews 2:18 ESV).
In Hebrews 3:1, Jesus is called our Great High Priest. The biblical role of the priest was to make atonement for the sins of the people. The animal sacrifices also covered the sins of the priests. The blood sacrifices were continuous because sin continued, and nothing completely satisfied its atonement. But Jesus, fully God and fully man, faced every temptation that we face. He did not sin and led a perfect life. As our brother and kinsman, He laid down His life as the final and complete blood atonement for our sins.
There is nothing we endure, are tempted by, or suffer that our Great High Priest doesn’t understand. He comes to our aid because He gets it.Jesus understands our shortcomings, our frailties, and our insecurities. The same God who created the universe and holds everything together walked a mile in our shoes. When you face temptation, He provides a way out so that you can endure
(1 Corinthians 10:13). When you feel hurt or alone, know that He is always with you (Hebrews 13:5). When it seems that no one understands your circumstances, He comes to your aid. This is peace that passes all understanding
