I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. – Isaiah 45:3
I remember when my grandmother went home to be with the Lord. After going through her house, my mom brought me back some keepsakes; some jewelry that I dearly treasure, and my grandmother’s sewing machine. I loved getting it because it reminded me of her. My mom also handed me an envelope with some hat pins sticking out that made me smile because Grandma always loved her hats. I set the envelope with the hat pins aside to look at another time months later. I grew up with my grand mother in Hebron when my parents moved to pampierstad Months that’s after I had an accident in 1999 – 2000,Months later I was going through my jewelry box, when I came across the envelope with the hat pins. As I took them out of the envelope, out came several small sheets of paper with writing on them. They were filled with some of the most beautiful poetry I have ever read, and all of it was about Jesus. I knew my grandmother was a Christian, and that she loved the Lord very much. However, I never knew my grandmother liked to write. It was her secret. She poured her heart into those poems. Some of the little scraps of paper were just thoughts written with gratitude for all that He had provided. I treasure these gifts bestowed unknowingly on me, not only because they are a reminder of my grandmother but also because they show her love for the one I love, and His name is Jesus Christ. What a beautiful gift and priceless treasure He is.
