He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16
Colossians is a small important book in the New Testament written to describe what it truly means to understand who Christ is and what he has called us for. Here, Paul is speaking about the Sovereignty of God. He is giving his readers a description of God’s power and authority over all things. When we struggle with the invisible or unknown in our lives, let us remember that God has overcome both the visible and the invisible. While we cannot see God, we can always embrace the fact that He is there with us, guiding us through what He has already overcome. Today, remind yourself that God is in control and that while you may not understand or comprehend what you are going through, He truly does.
