He’s risen and I’m back home in Germiston.
Our God is not the God of Chaos.
The Bible makes it clear that Jesus was resurrected on Sunday, the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1,19). The resurrection of Jesus deserves the most celebration (see 1 Corinthians 15). It is appropriate to celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection on Sunday, but the day on which Jesus’ Resurrection is celebrated should not be called Easter. Easter has nothing to do with Jesus being resurrected on Sunday.
For this reason, many Christians firmly believe that the day that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus should not be called Easter Sunday. Rather, something like Easter Sunday is far more appropriate and biblical. For Christians, it is unthinkable to focus on the stupidity of Easter eggs and Easter bunnies instead of the resurrection of Jesus.
Celebrate the Resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. The Resurrection of Christ should be celebrated every day, not just once a year. At the same time, if you do decide to celebrate Easter Sunday, don’t let fun or games distract you from the day’s original purpose: the fact that Jesus is alive and raised from the dead. Sin has no place in your life as the king is alive
