I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

God makes it clear that He needs us to pray for those in positions of authority. We don’t have the privilege of complaining about our government if we have not prayed for our leaders. God’s Word says we need to do this so that our lives may be filled with godliness and holiness.

Praying for our leaders leads to prosperity not just for us, but our whole nation. We pray for everyone to come to know Jesus. We pray for wise counsel to our government, for them to have a God encounter, for them to know Jesus and be filled and led by His Spirit. In this way, our country will stand amidst the toughest storms, we will live in peace, harmony, godliness and holiness. God requests that we pray for them. 

Take the time to speak life and God encounters into the life of every leader in our country, every day. Jesus is glorified! Hallelujah!
