If you will only obey the Lord your God, by diligently observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth; all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the Lord your God Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (NRSV)

Oh, what confidence and comfort we have in doing God’s will. Since our success is assured and the blessings that will come upon us are so bountiful, they will overtake us. Complete obedience to the Lord is the key. For the road to triumph will not be so easy. We must be diligent because we might be tempted to take shortcuts for quick short-lived victories, but this is definitely not God’s way. We need to endure trials, tests, and temptations (James 1:12). We will face all kinds of adversity along the way. Don’t be discouraged nor let your hearts be troubled. God is with us and we can do all things through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:13). Finally, be on guard and vigilant especially against the enemy’s deception and deceitful spirits (1 Timothy 4). The world views success very differently, so do not be led astray. Carefully evaluate and monitor your steps closely, lest we realize too late that all the while we are doing our will and not His
