And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? – Matthew 6:27
I am a bit of a worrier but I also have faith in God to solve my problems. I also tend to pack my worries away into an invisible backpack that I seem to carry around all day long. That way I can keep them with me, pull them out whenever I want to, and run them over in my mind. I know that the Lord tells us to lay our burdens at his feet, but if I do that, then that means I have no control over what happens with them. But that’s exactly the point. Jesus tells us to go to Him with our burdens in Matthew 11:28-30. The Lord doesn’t want us to be weighed down by the worries of this life. He wants us to live life to the fullest. We can’t add a single minute to our lives by worrying about them, and we shouldn’t waste a single minute wearing our worries like an overloaded backpack
